Praxis
Lavin provides much insight on what white supremacy looks like and what we can do to prevent it. This section will give you some questions to reflect upon alone or discuss with others to help you put these ideas into practice.
Based on the reading, what are some red flags you might see on the Internet that indicate someone is on the path towards right-wing radicalization?
Consider attitudes towards Jews, women, and sex.
Consider slang and news sources.
Lavin points to antifas tactics as a way to combat white supremacy, specifically through doxxing white supremacists and sabotaging white supremacist organizations from the inside. Is this something you would be able to try? Consider your identities and your safety.
Consider the police’s relationship with antifa and white supremacist movements. With that in mind, compare and contrast how the police responded to the Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021 and the Black Lives Matter protests during the summer of 2020.
